Introduction
Kurstjens operates modern mobile soil remediation installations that are deployed on-site for extractive cleaning (wet fraction separation) of:
Contaminated soil
Dredged material
Sewage, stormwater, and pumping station sludge (RKG)
Street sweepings and screened sand
Other mineral sand-sludge mixtures
Our installations are fully mobile and can be operational within four weeks – quickly and efficiently deployable throughout Europe.
Method
The operation of our installations is based on the physical properties of the material to be treated and the contaminants present. Using a smart combination of sieves, heavy media separators, hydrocyclones, spiral separators, upflow columns, magnetic separators, and organic matter separators, almost all contaminants can be largely removed from the sand and aggregate fractions.
A key specialty of Kurstjens is the treatment of PFAS-containing soil. We have successfully remediated over 200,000 tons of PFAS-contaminated soil, producing sand fractions suitable for agricultural and environmental use. Our methods ensure that sand and aggregate fractions are reusable at a high quality.
Capacity & Collaboration
Our installations are deployed throughout Western Europe and have a capacity of up to 70 tons per hour, depending on the material characteristics.
In the Netherlands, Kurstjens collaborates with Attero at Tilburg, Landgraaf, and Wijster. Extractable soil is accepted at these sites. Once sufficient stock is available, Kurstjens deploys one of its mobile installations. Loading, processing, and returning the fractions are fully managed by us.
Certification & Reliability
Kurstjens is certified according to SIKB BRL 7500, protocol 7510, and recognized by Rijkswaterstaat Leefomgeving for ex-situ and on-site extractive cleaning of soil, dredged material, and other mineral sand-sludge mixtures.
